About Us:

We are a worship community of 2SLGBTQIAP+ people who have chosen to reclaim liturgy in the same spirit we have claimed the words of violence used to hurt us.

Although we worship in a Catholic context, we are not Roman Catholic.

We choose to queer our liturgy to reflect the nature of the divine in the same way that Our Lady appeared in such a way as to be understood by the people of Mexico.

She is our patron; the patron of all Queer people.

We worship every Sunday, acknowledging that liturgy can refresh and remind us of trauma we may have experienced at the hands of organized religion.

We acknowledge that liturgy can refresh and remind us of our connection to the Divine Spirit of God through the sacraments.

We support each other in these awakenings. We validate the trauma as real. We reclaim our liturgical space as a way of taking our rightful place at the table.

The space we hold is secure and safe. The space we hold guarantees anonymity and respect for discretion. The space we hold provides for an opportunity to move from the space of worship if one is triggered. It provides an opportunity to share, to reflect, to decompress, to debrief.

Our community requires no commitment, no dues or tithes. We welcome anyone who wants to explore the nature of their experience in liturgy from a queer perspective. Our table is open. Our sacraments are given freely and without expectation.

We endeavor to serve our 2SLGBTQIAP+ brothers, sisters, siblings, and allies.

BISHOP

Peter Mac Naughton

Having been called to ministry, Peter spent many years attempting to reconcile his sexuality with his priestly vocation.

Rather than enter the Roman Catholic Church, he searched for alternative faith practices.

After many years, he returned to his Christian faith, and through a series of coincidences, was put in contact with Archbishop LaRade.

After several months of spiritual direction, he flew to Toronto where he was baptized, confirmed, and took his first steps towards fully actualizing his vocation as a priest.

Peter was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop LaRade on September 18, 2021 in Toronto. A past board member of Queen City Pride, he currently works as a community key support worker, writes a personal blog about his experiences as member of a Franciscan Order, was a regular contributor to Convergent Streams (a publication specific to the Autocephalous Catholic movement), and is working to establish connections with other religious denominations.

He acts as a spiritual director and has lead retreats focusing on key points of Franciscan Spirituality. His focus remains on what we as clergy in autocephalous denominations can do within the communities we live and work. His approach is to act behind the scenes.

“They should know us by our works, not by our words. The spirit of Christ should be in how gentle we are.”

Peter was consecrated as a bishop in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 18th, 2024.
